Preliminary Investigation of Criminal Case Initiated on Baby Boy’s Murder in Armavir Completed

Preliminary investigation of the criminal case initiated on baby boy’s murder was completed in Armavir Regional Investigative Department of the RA Investigative Committee. Charge was pressed against 32 year-old man.

It was earlier informed that violence had been used against the baby by a man who was the baby’s not biological father but had recognized paternity; the latter hit the baby boy, born on 18.12.2017 in their residence located in the field which caused the baby’s death.

Pursuant to factual data, on September 28, 2018 at about 09:00 in order to stop baby’s cry, with the purpose of illegally depriving him from life 32 year-old man hit the baby on the face with a palm and fists. Then turning the baby to the face on the bed continued hitting the baby on the back, head and different parts of the body causing bodily injuries.

The baby’s mother tried to prevent husband from hitting the baby. However, the man hit the wife, as well.

In the result of hitting the baby sustained bodily injuries incompatible with life and died.

Through preliminary investigation of the criminal case data were obtained that the man, born in 1986, had formerly used violence against both baby boy and his wife.

Particularly, in September, 2018 being under the influence of alcohol the man argued with his wife during which hit her on different parts of her body with a metal bar causing bodily injuries. Then he hit the baby boy for a few times.

On the base of the obtained evidence charge was pressed against 32 year-old man according to the Part 1 of the Article 104 and the Article 118 of RA Criminal Code. Detention was chosen as a pretrial measure against him.

Preliminary investigation was completed and the criminal case with the bill of indictment was sent to court.

Note; Everyone charged with alleged crime offence shall be presumed innocent until proved guilty according to law.
