Murder Committed in Tavush Disclosed

In the result of urgent investigatory actions conducted in Berd Investigative Division of Tavush Regional Investigative Department of the RA Investigative Committee circumstances of 64 year-old man’s murder were found out; one person was arrested.

Pursuant to initial data, on March 5, 2019 with the purpose of illegally depriving somebody else from life, in one of the houses of Teryan Street of Berd town the person having committed the alleged crime hit a resident of the same province, born in 1955, on the right part of his head with a blunt item. The latter died at the scene of bodily injuries he had sustained.

A criminal case was initiated in Berd Investigative Division of Tavush Regional Investigative Department of the RA Investigative Committee according to the Part 1 of the Article 104 of RA Criminal Code.

An investigatory group was formed, an investigatory plan was worked out. Inspection of the scene was conducted during which blood-like traces were found, samples were taken. The clothes the victim was wearing at the moment of the incident were confiscated. The hammer and wooden bar being a crime tool were confiscated from the scene.

In the result of urgent investigatory and operative-searching measures a number of circumstances of murder, the motive were found out, the person having committed the alleged crime was identified; he is a resident of Tavush province, born in 1986. The latter was arrested on suspicion of murdering 64 year-old man and was questioned.

Forensic medical examination of the body, forensic medical, forensic biological and forensic trace examinations were commissioned to find out circumstances significant for the criminal case.

Preliminary investigation is ongoing. Necessary measures are taken to find out all circumstances of murder, to provide the comprehensive, complete and objective investigation of the case.

Note; Everyone charged with alleged crime offence shall be presumed innocent until proved guilty according to law.
