Information about criminal cases on domestic violence investigated in 2017 in RA Investigative Committee

Criminal cases on domestic violence investigated in 2017 in the RA proceeding were examined in the RA Investigative Committee.

Thus, pursuant to examinations in the mentioned period 458 criminal cases on domestic violence were investigated in 2017 in the proceeding of the RA Investigative Committee 8 of which in the proceeding of General Military Investigative Department of the RA Investigative Committee.


Most of the criminal cases refer to violence used by husband – battery, besides, cases of murder, kidnapping and other criminal manifestations committed by a family member were recorded.     


Thus, out of 458 criminal cases


285 referred to battery envisaged by the Article 118 of RA Criminal Code,

40 – to infliction of willful light damage to health envisaged by the Article 117 of RA Criminal Code,

39 – to threat to murder, to inflict heavy damage to one's health or to destroy property envisaged by the Article 137 of RA Criminal Code,


15 – to infliction of willful heavy damage to health envisaged by the Article 112 of RA Criminal Code,

13 – to infliction of willful medium-gravity damage to health envisaged by the Article 113 of RA Criminal Code,


12 – to sexual intercourse or other sexual acts with a person obviously under 16 envisaged by the Article 141 of RA Criminal Code,


8 – to murder envisaged by the Article 104 of RA Criminal Code,


8 – to willful evasion from supporting child by the parent envisaged by the Article 173 of RA Criminal Code,

7 – to causing strong pain or mental sufferance envisaged by the Article 119 of RA Criminal Code,

 

4 – to willful destruction or spoilage of property envisaged by the Article 185 of RA Criminal Code,

 

3 – to causing to commit suicide envisaged by the Article 110 of RA Criminal Code,

 

2 – to kidnapping envisaged by the Article 131 of RA Criminal Code,

 

2 – to rape envisaged by the Article 138 of RA Criminal Code,

 

2 – to lecherous acts envisaged by the Article 142 of RA Criminal Code,

 

1 – to causing death by negligence envisaged by the Article 109 of RA Criminal Code,

 

1 – to abetment of suicide envisaged by the Article 111 of RA Criminal Code and etc.

In the result of examinations it became clear that out of the crimes committed in the family 5 have been committed by mother, 17 – by father, 1 – by step-mother, 2 – by step father, 6– by brother/sister, 2 – by grandmother/grandfather, 35 – by son/daughter (including adopted), 167 – by husband, 13 – by wife, 6 – by grandson/granddaughter, 8 – by husband's parents, 13 – by daughter-in-law/son-in-law, 1 – by guardian, trustee or guardian parent.


At the stage of preliminary investigation in the framework of criminal cases 272 persons were involved as a defendant 142 of which were 18-35 years old, 127– over 35, 3 – 14-18 years old.

In the framework of the criminal cases 341 persons were found the affected party 17 of which were up to 12 years old, 9 – from 12 to 14, 14 – from 14 to 16, 1 – from 16 to 18, 158 – from 18 to 35, 142 – over 35.


86 criminal cases on 88 persons with the bill of indictment were sent to court.
