Criminal cases initiated in Yerevan - pursuant to administrative districts

In the result of verifying circumstances mentioned in the reports received in territorial subdivisions of the RA Investigative Committee on electoral breaches recorded during National Assembly elections held on April 2 6 criminal cases were initiated on attempt to vote more than once. Three of the criminal cases were initiated in Yerevan, three in regions.
 

Criminal cases initiated in Yerevan - pursuant to administrative districts are presented below;
 

1. A criminal case was initiated in the Investigative Division of Arabkir administrative district of Yerevan Investigative Department of the RA Investigative Committee on attempt to vote more than once in polling station N 4/35.
 

Through materials prepared on the base of the report received in the investigative division it was found that on April 2 the voter of polling station N 4/35 A. Nikoyan went to the mentioned polling station and took part in voting in the order defined by law. After a while A. Nikoyan again went to the same polling station to vote more than once and gave his passport to the precinct electoral commission member to be registered. The signal of identification device immediately went on showing that the voter had already taken part in voting after which A. Nikoyan left leaving his passport.
 

Considering that the prepared materials contain reason and base to initiate a criminal case according to the Article 34-153 of RA Criminal Code, a criminal case was initiated in the Investigative Division of Arabkir administrative district of Yerevan Investigative Department of the RA Investigative Committee. Investigation is conducted.
 

2. A criminal case was initiated in the Investigative Division of Qanaqer-Zeytun administrative district of Yerevan Investigative Department of the RA Investigative Committee on voting more than once in polling station N 3/22.
 

Through materials prepared on the base of the report received in the investigative division it was found that citizen M. Martirosyan having participated in voting in polling station N 3/22 with the purpose of voting more than once went to the same polling station, gave his passport to the commission member serving the device registering the voters of the mentioned polling station during which the signal of the identification device went on after which M. Martirosyan left the polling station.
 

Considering that the prepared materials contain reason and base to initiate a criminal case according to the Article 34-153 of RA Criminal Code, a criminal case was initiated in the Investigative Division of Qanaqer-Zeytun administrative district of Yerevan Investigative Department of the RA Investigative Committee. Investigation is conducted.
 

3. A criminal case was initiated in the Investigative Division of Avan and Nor Norq administrative district of Yerevan Investigative Department of the RA Investigative Committee on voting more than once in polling station N 2/19.
 

Through materials prepared on the base of the report received in the investigative division it was found that on April 2, 2017 at about 09:10 citizen H. Ghazaryan went to polling station N 2/19 to take part in National Assembly elections, he got the voting ballots in the order defined by law and took part in voting. After a while he again came back to the polling station and gave his ID card to the commission member to take part in voting again. However, it was immediately found through the appropriate device that the voter had already voted.
 

Considering that the prepared materials contain reason and base to initiate a criminal case according to the Article 34-153 of RA Criminal Code, a criminal case was initiated in the Investigative Division of Avan and Nor Norq administrative district of Yerevan Investigative Department of the RA Investigative Committee. Investigation is conducted.
 

Necessary investigatory actions are conducted to provide the comprehensive and objective investigation of all circumstances of all cases. Additional information on the results will be provided.
 

Note; Everyone charged with alleged crime offence shall be presumed innocent until proved guilty according to law.
