The Chairman of the RA Investigative Committee Hayk Grigoryan received the Cyber Crime Expert of OSCE Marjan Stoilkovski.
Chairman of the Investigative Committee thanked Marjan Stoilkovski for being hosted at the RA Investigative Committee.
Hayk Grigoryan presented some details about the cooperation with the representatives of OSCE in the recent five years in the sphere of cyber crimes within which certain work has been done.
• strengthening technical capacities
• improvement of legal sphere
• study and exchange of international experience
• training of employees
• support in providing legal assistance in international relations
Hayk Grigoryan noted with regret that after the closure of Yerevan Office of OSCE in 2017 a number of arrangements in fight against cyber crimes were not implemented. “in this respect, I consider the mentioned initiative of OSCE in fight against cyber crimes which is study and assessment of the needs of the sphere is a start for new opportunities in the given sphere for law enforcement bodies which will give a fresh breath to the cooperation between OSCE and Investigative Committee and it will surely have a positive influence on efficiency in fight against cyber crimes in the Republic of Armenia”, emphasized Hayk Grigoryan.
The Chairman of the Investigative Committee informed the guests that the Investigative Committee was planning to form a specialized subdivision for investigation of crimes committed in the sphere of cyber crimes and high tech industry. In the mentioned subdivision not only similar criminal cases will be concentrated and investigated but the employees of the subdivision will also provide the international cooperation and criminal scientific provision within the criminal cases which need electronic evidence of other spheres investigated in the Committee.
Cyber Crime Expert of OSCE Marjan Stoilkovski thanked for warm reception. The latter was enthusiastic about the news about forming a specialized subdivision for investigation of crimes committed in the sphere of cyber crimes and high tech industry in the RA Investigative Committee.
Marjan Stoilkovski emphasized that he was ready to support the new subdivision to be formed.
