Murder attempt in Yerevan; suspect arrested

A criminal case was initiated in the Investigative Division of Ajapnyak and Davtashen administrative districts of Yerevan Investigative Department of the RA Investigative Committee on murder attempt against 22 year-old Levon Sahakyan, the suspect was arrested.
 

On October 19, 2016 at 23:20 a report was received from “Armenia” medical center informing that Levon Sahakyan, born in 1994, was taken to hospital with “cut-pierced wounds on the left part of the chest and the right thigh”. The injured claimed that he had fallen down near the former department store “Shirak”.  
 

The investigatory-operative group immediately left for hospital and conducted urgent actions to find the real circumstances of sustaining bodily injuries by the young man. According to doctors the young man’s heart and lung were damaged.
 

According to initial data, the young man was inflicted bodily injury with a cutting-piercing item at Terlemezyan 3 and the site is “Young Journalists’ Academy”. Through inspection bloodlike traces were found in the yard of the mentioned address and inside the school, and a clasp knife with bloodlike traces was found in the room of the headmaster of the academy V. Ghazaryan.   
 

A criminal case was initiated in the Investigative Division of Ajapnyak and Davtashen administrative districts according to the Part 1 of the Article 34-104 of RA Criminal Code.
 

In the result of investigatory actions conducted in the framework of the criminal case a number of circumstances, the motive of crime were found and V. Ghazaryan was arrested on suspicion of murder attempt.   
 

Forensic examinations were commissioned to find circumstances significant for the criminal case.
 

Note; Everyone charged with alleged crime offence shall be presumed innocent until proved guilty according to law.
