Charge pressed against the former head of Erebuni Territorial Subdivision of the Staff of State Committee of Real Estate Cadastre for giving false property certificates
In the framework of the criminal case investigated in the Investigative Division of Yerevan Investigative Department of RA Investigative Committee the former head of Erebuni Territorial Subdivision of the Staff of State Committee of Real Estate Cadastre, Sargis Karapetyan was detained. The latter is charged with abuse of official authorities and illegal procurement and carrying of ammunition.
According to data of preliminary investigation, S. Karapetyan holding the post of the head of Erebuni Territorial Subdivision of the Staff of State Committee of Real Estate Cadastre adjunct to the RA Government abused his official authorities and provided several persons with false certificates of real estate registration.
Particularly, from 2008 to 2010 he divided the real estate with 94.4 hectare surface owned by an OJSC with right to property into 6 units and on its base he provided several physical persons and legal entities with certificates of real estate registration. Two of them, registered in the name of 2 other persons but owned by OJSC, were pledged in the bank as loan collateral. As a result, loan in particularly large amount was received by “Erebuni wine-brandy factory” LLC in the face of the actual owner and the loan commitments were not performed.
Besides, through preliminary investigation it was found that S. Karapetyan illegally procured a few hundred factory production bullets of different caliber and kept them illegally in his apartment.
On the base of the obtained evidence charge was pressed against S. Karapetyan according to the Part 2 of the Article 308 and the Part 1 of the Article 235 of RA Criminal Code. The investigator of particularly important cases of Yerevan Investigative Department submitted a motion to use detention as a pretrial measure against him. The motion was sufficed.
Preliminary investigation is ongoing. Necessary investigatory and procedural measures are taken to provide the objective, complete and comprehensive investigation of the case.
