In the framework of the criminal case investigated in the proceeding of Yerevan Investigative Department of the RA Investigative Committee on violence used against police officers performing their official duties on the evening of July 19, 2016 one person was arrested on July 20.
 

Taking public interest into consideration we inform that the resident of Yerevan H. Torosyan, born in 1978, was arrested on suspicion of committing a committal envisaged by the Part 2 of the Article 316 of RA Criminal Code; that is violence dangerous for health against a representative of authorities concerned with performance of his official duties.
 

It was earlier informed that on July 19, 2016 at about 20:00 at the junction of Glinka and Vormnadirner Streets adjacent to M. Khorenatsi Street of Yerevan a group of persons used violence against police officers performing their official duties by throwing stones and other hard items towards them. In the result of violence 6 police officers with different bodily injuries were taken to medical center. They were found injured party.
 

Preliminary investigation is ongoing, urgent investigatory actions are conducted to provide the comprehensive, objective and complete investigation of circumstances of the case.
 

Additional information on procedural decisions made in the framework of the criminal case will be provided.
