The wanted charged with murder attempt committed 9 years ago found; charge pressed against him
In the framework of the criminal case investigated in Tavush Regional Investigative Department of the RA Investigative Committee charge was pressed against 41 year-old man for murder attempt committed 9 years ago.
In May, 2007 search was declared against A. Khachatryan, born in 1971, charged with committing acts envisaged by 3 different articles of RA Criminal Code. He was found on December 17 at 02:25 at “Zvartnotz” airport and was brought to the investigative body.
According to preliminary investigation data, on March 3, 2007 at about 20:00 the resident of Vanadzor A. Khachatryan, having used alcohol, at the beginning of Abovyan and Kalinin Streets of Dilijan town in his car “Mercedes Benz” crashed the car “UAZ” 452 of the resident of the same town S. Yesayan. A row erupted because of the crash during which A. Khachatryan together with his friend used violence against S. Yesayan, pushed S. Yesayan’s mother A. Poghosyan, who was trying to prevent their actions, to the ground.
Some hours later the incident went on. According to the obtained evidence, A. Khachatryan went to Vanadzor, took the firearm “AK-74” of 784805 factory number, which he had procured and kept without an appropriate permission, with 27 bullets of 5.45 mm caliber and at about 22:00 returned to Dilijan where he fired towards S. Yesayan in a way dangerous for many people’s life. After the incident A. Khachatryan escaped.
The proceeding of the criminal case, which was suspended in 2007 based on the fact that the accused was hiding from investigation, was reopened in Tavush Regional Investigative Department on December 17, 2016. On the same day charge was pressed against A. Khachatryan according to the Points 6 and 10 of the Part 2 of the Article 34-104, the Point 1 of the Part 3 of the Article 258 and the Part 1 of the Article 235 of RA Criminal Code.
On December 18, 2016 a motion was submitted to court to reconfirm the detention as a pretrial measure against him. It was sufficed.
Preliminary investigation is ongoing.
