A criminal case was initiated in Kotayq Regional Investigative Department of RA Investigative Committee on murder of 80 year-old woman.

The citizen A. Nazaryan submitted a report informing that her brother who was suffering from schizophrenia had not allowed her to enter her paternal home and see her 80 year-old mother for about a month.

On August 28, 2015 with the help of police officers A. Nazaryan visited her paternal home – house 154, Shahumyan Street, Hrazdan town. The body of 80 year-old Araqsya Harutyunyan was found in the pit of the garage next to the house.

A criminal case was initiated according to the Part 1 of the Article 104 of RA Criminal Code (murder).

Forensic examinations were commissioned.

Preliminary investigation is under way. Measures are taken to provide the comprehensive, complete and objective examination of the case, as well as to identify the person or persons having committed the apparent crime.

Note; Everyone charged with alleged crime offence shall be presumed innocent until proved guilty according to law.
