In the result of investigatory and other procedural actions conducted in the Investigative Division of Kentron and Nork-Marash administrative districts of Yerevan Investigative Department of the RA Investigative Committee a number of circumstances of using violence against police officers and hooliganism committed by footballer brothers were found out.

Through investigation it was found out that on 30 August, 2020 at about 23:00 26 and 29 year-old footballer brothers together with their friend and several people were in a café nearby “Cascade” complex of Yerevan. In the mentioned period while carrying out their service duties two inspectors of the RA Road Police noticed a car of “Mercedes” make with violation of parking rules which belonged to the brothers’ friend and over the loudspeaker made a request to approach them. Informing the latter about the administrative violation they made a relevant protocol. At that moment two brothers, who were not sober, approached them and demanded that the inspectors should not subject their sportsman friend to liability. Being refused they willfully hindered the police officers to carry out their service duties, dragged them,  tore the official badge and video recorder of one of the police officers as well as the shoulder strap of the other. 26 year-old brother punched one of the police officers on the face causing bodily injury.

In the same period two investigators of the RA National Security Service, who were near the café, noticing the brothers using violence against representative of authority approached them and demanded to stop illegal actions. The latters, indignant at their remark, emphasizing their own strength, roughly violated the public order for a long time, disturbed the peace of the people in the nearby cafes and showing obvious disrespect against public scolded and used violence against the investigators – they hit them on different parts of their bodies with hands and face causing bodily injuries. Their actions were combined with resistance against other police officers who were there at that moment.

On the base of the obtained sufficient evidence charge was pressed against footballer brothers according to the Part 1 of the Article 316 (violence against a representative of authorities) and the Points 1 and 2 of the Part 3 of the Article 258 (hooliganism). A motion was submitted to court to choose detention as a pretrial measure against them.
