June 26, 2026
As a result of proper and comprehensive investigation conducted in the Division for Investigation of Grave Crimes of Yerevan Investigative Department of the RA Investigative Committee, apparent factual data were obtained on the allegation that during the court hearing, the defendant, V. Gh., interfered with the lawful performance of the official duties of a public official.
Particularly, on May 27, 2026, V.Gh., defendant within a criminal case investigated in the RA Anti-Corruption Criminal Court, immediately after the conclusion of the court hearing attempted to answer journalists' questions. Despite being aware that the police officer of the Police of the RA Ministry of Internal Affairs was performing escort duties in the course of his official responsibilities, and with the intent of interfering with the officer's lawful official activities, V. Gh. refused to comply with the officer's lawful order to proceed to the court holding cell designated for detained persons following the conclusion of the hearing. Subsequently, when the police officer attempted to escort V. Gh., the latter used violence: namely physical force against the officer, thereby interfering with the lawful official activities of a public official.
On June 25, 2026 on the base of the investigator’s motion, public criminal prosecution was initiated by the prosecutor against V.Gh. according to the Part 3 of the Article 452 of RA Criminal Code.
Preliminary investigation of the criminal proceeding is ongoing.
