In the course of the preliminary investigation of the criminal proceeding initiated in Syunik Regional Investigative Department of the RA Investigative Committee factual data were obtained on alleged smuggling of 69.34 kg of “Marijuana” type of narcotic drugs. 

As a result of joint measures taken in the course of the preliminary investigation together with the officers of the RA National Security Service, it was found out that a foreign national smuggled a narcotic drugs in particularly large amount into the RA territory and concealed them in the border zone, from where two Armenian nationals took the drugs and placed them in a vehicle.

During the search, packages containing 69.34 kg of “Marijuana” type of narcotic drugs were discovered.

By the supervising prosecutor’s decision, public criminal prosecution was initiated against the two Armenian nationals according to the Point 2 of the Part 3 of the Article 393 and the Point 2 of the Part 3 of the Article 46-399 of RA Criminal Code.

They were detained.
