In the course of the preliminary investigation of the criminal proceeding investigated in the Department for Investigation of Crimes against Humanity of General Department for Investigation of Particularly Important Cases of the RA Investigative Committee, it was found out that S.A., who had previously been convicted multiple times, with prior agreement with two other individuals, on September 6, 2025 unlawfully entered the administrative building of a company located in the settlement of Zovuni. Using metal crowbars and a screwdriver, they forced open a metal safe installed in one of the offices and stole 116 million AMD, 10 thousand USD, and a hunting rifle with its ammunition. Then they fled the scene in a vehicle.

As a result of examination of a number of hypotheses put forward in the course of the preliminary investigation, through collected evidence, including forensic genetic expertise of samples taken from metal crowbars, and a screwdriver left at the scene by the perpetrators of the apparent crime, the circumstance of S.A.’s involvement in the mentioned theft was grounded. The vehicle used as a means of committing the crime was also found. 

In addition, as a result of investigative actions factual data were also obtained on S.A.’s involvement in the theft in the amount of 1 million 265 thousand AMD committed on June 11, 2022 from the car service station in Armavir town.

By the prosecutor’s decision, public criminal prosecution was initiated against S.A. according to the Points 3 and 4 of the Part 2, the Point 4 of the Part 3 of the Article 254 and the Point 4 of the Part 2 of the Article 338 of RA Criminal Code. 

Detention was applied as a pretrial measure against him. 

In the course of the preliminary investigation of the criminal proceeding a ban was imposed to S.A.’s whole property, including the apartment obtained by him in Davtashen district, Yerevan, immediately after committal of the crime. 

The criminal proceeding with the bill of indictment was sent to the prosecutor for approval and referral to court.
