Preliminary Investigation of the criminal proceeding regarding the hooliganism committed by the supporters of “Strong Armenia” alliance was completed in Lori Regional Investigative Department of the RA Investigative Committee. 

In the course of the preliminary investigation factual data were obtained on the allegation that on May 31, 2026, supporters of the “Strong Armenia” alliance were present during the election campaign in the vicinity of the “Sanahin Station” in the city of Alaverdi. While reversing an electric locomotive, the depot driver, for safety reasons, sounded a warning horn twice at three-minute intervals, in response to which V.P., one of the campaign participants, made an offensive gesture.

Thereafter, V.P., G.Sh., L.N., and more than 10 other campaign participants went up onto the station platform, where they directed profanities at the driver. V.P. and G.Sh. also grabbed and struck him, thereby obstructing the normal work of the employees of the station’s turnaround depot.

In the course of the preliminary investigation, by the supervising prosecutor’s decision, public criminal prosecution was initiated against L.N., V.P., and G.Sh. according to the Point 1 of the Part 2 of the Article 297 of RA Criminal Code. 

Administrative supervision, bail and absence ban was applied as a pretrial measure against them. 

The criminal proceeding with the bill of indictment was referred to the supervising prosecutor for approval and referral to court.
