Preliminary investigation of the criminal proceeding initiated on murder of the resident of Yerevan committed in Gavar town was completed.

Through factual data obtained in the result of investigative and procedural actions conducted in Gegharkunik Regional Investigative Department of the RA Investigative Committee it was grounded that on December 18, 2022 at about 20:15 49 year-old resident of Yerevan, being in his acquaintance’s apartment located in Sayadyan Street of Gavar community, got acquainted with 32 year-old resident of Yerevan who also had been hosted in the same apartment. 49 year-old man used alcohol drink with his acquaintance during which 32 year-old man who was in the living-room on the ground floor, called 49year-old man to him. A row on domestic matters erupted between them during which the latter, with the intent to deprive 32 year-old man of life, stabbed him four times on different parts of his body causing bodily injuries incompatible with life.

Besides, having beeng sentenced to imprisonment for murder attempt committed against his ex-wife and after exemption from punishment in May, 2022, within 24 and 30 May, 2022 49 year-old man periodically called his ex-wife and threatened to kill her which created a real danger and fear of believing that threat to be real.

On the base of the sufficient facts charge was pressed against 49 year-old resident of Yerevan according to the Part 1 of the Article 155 and the Part 1 of the Article 194 of RA Criminal Code. Detention was used as a pretrial measure against him.

Preliminary investigation was completed and the materials of the criminal proceeding with the bill of indictment were sent to court.

Note; Everyone charged with alleged crime offence shall be presumed innocent until proved guilty according to law.
