Artur Poghosyan introduced the newly appointed Deputy Chairman of the Investigative Committee Vaghinak Martirosyan at the ceremonial session held today to mark the 12th anniversary of the establishment of the Investigative Committee of the Republic of Armenia and the IC Employee’s Day.

The Chairman of the Investigative Committee stated that by his order, the areas for coordination among his deputies had been allocated. As a result, Armen Gevorgyan, Deputy Chairman of the Investigative Committee, will henceforth oversee the activities of General Department for Control over Activity of Territorial Investigative Departments, as well as the operations of Yerevan Investigative Department and regional investigative departments and their respective subdivisions. Vaghinak Martirosyan will oversee the activities of General Department for Investigation of Economic Crimes and Smuggling.

According to Artur Poghosyan, these changes will significantly improve oversight mechanisms and enhance the effectiveness of investigation.
