A criminal case was initiated in Aragatsotn Regional Investigative Department of the RA Investigative Committee on death of prisoner of “Kosh” penitentiary R. Grigoryan.

On November 30, 2015 a call was received in Aragatsotn Regional Investigative Department informing that on the same day the prisoner of “Kosh” penitentiary R. Grigoryan committed suicide. The investigatory-operative group headed by an investigator immediately left for the site.

According to initial data the incident happened in the toilet of the canteen of the residential zone of penitentiary where the prisoner had committed suicide by hanging with clothes from the spigot on the wall. 

Through the external inspection of the zone no traces of violence were found.

A criminal case was initiated in Aragatsotn Regional Investigative Department according to the Part 1 of the Article 110 of RA Criminal Code (cause to commit suicide).

Forensic examinations were commissioned to find circumstances significant for the criminal case.

Investigation is conducted.
