As a Result of Illegally Alienating 6 Land Plots by Former Head of Tsovagyugh, Damage of 38 Million AMD Caused to Community․ Preliminary Investigation of Criminal Proceeding Completed

Preliminary investigation of the criminal proceeding initiated on illegally alienating land plots, as well as land areas encumbered with buildings owned by Tsovagyugh community of Gegharkunik region, by abusing the official position and entering obviously false information into official documents, committed by V.G., the former head of the community with the help of other individuals was completed in General Department on Special Assignments of the RA Investigative Committee.   

According to the data obtained through preliminary investigation, in the period between November 3, 2012 and December 20, 2021, V.G., holding the position of the head of Tsovagyugh community of Gegharkunik region, during the mentioned period, motivated by personal and group interests, unlawfully organized and conducted sham auctions for the sale of five land plots owned by Tsovagyugh community in order to transfer them to his mother and fellow villagers at prices significantly below their actual market value. In addition, he illegally alienated one more land plot directly to his mother through a private sale. As a result of the unlawful transfer of these six land plots, the community suffered damages amounting to 38 million 318 thousand 325 AMD.

By the prosecutor’s decision, public criminal prosecution was initiated against V.G. according to the Parts 2 and 1 of the Article 308 of RA Criminal Code adopted on 18.04.2003. 

Ban was imposed to the alienated properties to recover the damage caused. 

The criminal proceeding with the bill of indictment was sent to the prosecutor.
