Case Involving Police Officers' Assistance in Murder Committed Three Years ago Solved

As a result of large-scale evidentiary and procedural actions conducted by the officers of the RA Investigative Committee within the criminal proceeding investigated since August 7, 2023 in General Department for Investigation of Crimes against the State, Fundamentals of the Constitutional Order and Public Security of the RA Investigative Committee, it was grounded that A.S. and A.G., police officers of the RA Ministry of Internal Affairs, acting for pecuniary gain, in exchange for the payment of 5 million AMD previously promised by the accused A.S., and acting as members of a group, abusing their official powers by identifying the whereabouts of the victim A.H. immediately before the incident and pointing him out to the accused, as well as by removing obstacles while pursuing the victim together with the accused and other unidentified individuals, thereby aiding and abetting the murder attempt against brothers - A.H., committed by A.S., in a way dangerous for other people’s life, and the murder of Ar.H., committed in the same way. As a result, while pursuing the victims, A.S., firing multiple gunshots in Romanos Melikyan Lane, Malatia-Sebastia Administrative District, Yerevan, illegally killed Ar.H. in a way dangerous for other people’s life and attempted to kill his brother, A.H., by the same means, after which he fled the scene.
In the course of the preliminary investigation of the criminal proceeding searches were conducted in the apartments of the two police officers jointly by the officers of the RA National Security Service and the Internal Security and Anti-Corruption Department of the Police of the RA Ministry of Internal Affairs.
Public criminal prosecution was initiated against them according to the Points 7, 8 and 10 of the Part 2 of the Article 46-155 of RA Criminal Code.
A.S. and A.G. were arrested to be presented to court.
Preliminary investigation of the criminal proceeding is ongoing.
