The close cooperation established between the RA Investigative Committee and the Federal Bureau of Investigation of the US Department of Justice is ongoing.
 

Within the framework of it on May 15 a joint training course was held for the investigators of the RA Investigative Committee in the RA Academy of Justice on the activity of the US Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), peculiarities of mutual legal requests with the US, practical work and discussion of problems related to them, experience exchange.
 

The training course was aimed at enhancement of efficiency of the procedures of investigative requests, legal mutual aid which will help to disclose the crimes as quickly as possible, increasing the effectiveness of data exchange regarding issues of interest to investigation, finding the criminals hiding from investigation.
 

The training course was conducted by the Deputy Chairman of the RA Investigative Committee Arsen Ayvazyan and DoJ FBI Legal Attaché in Armenia and Georgia Heather Bergey.
 

In their opening speech Mr. Arsen Ayvazyan and Mrs. Heather Bergey attached importance to the implementation of similar program in terms of deepening cooperation between the RA and US law enforcement bodies, enhancement of efficiency in fight against transnational crimes, exchange of experience and information.
 

Heads, deputy heads, investigators of a number of subdivisions of the RA Investigative Committee were involved in the training.
 

Necessary information about the FBI structure, activity principles, crime types investigated by it, peculiarities of necessary actions to disclose and find the criminals conducted by the FBI employees, formats of communication and cooperation implemented for that purpose was given to them.
 

Issues on domestic and international legal regulations of investigative requests, grounds for rejecting requests, mechanisms for quality enhancement of implementation of requests on showing mutual legal aid as well as directions of cooperation between the RA IC and the US FBI were also discussed.
