Illegal Ammunition Found in the Possession of Person who Committed Hooliganism. Preliminary Investigation of Criminal Proceeding Completed

Preliminary investigation of the criminal proceeding initiated on committing hooliganism was completed in Lori Regional Investigative Department of the RA Investigative Committee. 

Within the framework of the criminal proceeding factual data were obtained on the allegation that A.O., with the direct intent to commit hooliganism and displaying blatant contempt for society, as well as legal and moral norms, on June 5, 2026, using information and communication technologies, made a post on his Facebook page containing sexually explicit profanity and obscene expressions.

In addition, without having the right to acquire, possess, or carry a firearm or its essential components, or the relevant permit to engage in the circulation of firearms and corresponding ammunition, A.O. illegally acquired and, until and including June 9, 2026, illegally kept at his place of residence, in a metal safe, 85 rounds of ammunition intended for use in sniper rifles, machine guns, and other rifled firearms, which constitute military ammunition.

By the prosecutor’s decision, public criminal prosecution was initiated against A.O., according to the Point 3 of the Part 2 of the Article 297 and the Part 1 of the Article 335 of RA Criminal Code.

Administrative supervision, bail and absence ban was applied as a pretrial measure against him.

The criminal proceeding with the bill of indictment was referred to the supervising prosecutor for approval and referral to court.
