Investigation Conducted to Find out Circumstances of Shots Fired in Dilijan; One Person Arrested (added)

Investigation is conducted in Dilijan Investigative Division of Tavush Regional Investigative Department of the RA Investigative Committee to find out circumstances of shots fired yesterday evening in Dilijan town.

Pursuant to initial data, on February 20, 2019 at about 12:20 on Ijevan–Dilijan-Sevan road to the administrative building of “Dilijan National Park” a group of people fired shots towards the car of «Lexus GX 470» make driven by a resident of Tavush province, born in 1979, from a pistol of 5.45 mm caliber kept illegally and damaged it. However, as the 40 year-old man escaped they could not complete the crime.

On February 20, 2019 a criminal case was initiated in Dilijan Investigative Division according to the Point 7 of the Part 2 of the Article 34-104 and the Part 1 of the Article 235 of RA Criminal Code. An investigatory group was formed. An investigatory plan was worked out.

During preliminary investigation a group of people were interrogated, investigatory actions of great volume were conducted, forensic medical, forensic merchandising and forensic trace examinations were commissioned.

Inspection of the scene, transport means was conducted, 33 shot bullets of 5.45 mm caliber, an empty cartridge and two balls were found.

In the result of urgent investigatory and operative-intelligence actions one of those having committed the alleged crime was identified; he is a resident of Dilijan, born in 1988. The latter was arrested on suspicion of committing the mentioned crime with a group.

Investigatory and operative-intelligence joint actions of great volume are conducted to find out all circumstances of the case. The relevant subdivisions of the Police were tasked to take measures to find those having committed the alleged crime and bring them to the investigative body.

Note; Everyone charged with alleged crime offence shall be presumed innocent until proved guilty according to law.
