Preliminary investigation of the criminal case initiated on murder of the resident of Alaverdi town Roman Poghosyan was completed in Lori Regional Investigative Department of the RA Investigative Committee. In the result of investigatory actions the motive of murder was found, the person having committed the alleged crime was identified. Charge was pressed.

On December 28, 2016 the body of the resident of Lori region Roman Poghosyan, born in 1982, with traces of violence with the face to the ground was found at the sidewalk near the house 80, Jravazan Street, Alaverdi.

A criminal case was initiated on R. Poghosyan’s murder according to the Part 1 of the Article 104 of RA Criminal Code, an investigatory plan was worked out and necessary investigatory and other procedural actions were taken to find all circumstances of the man’s death. As a result, the person having committed the alleged crime was identified; he is a resident of Lori region.

Through preliminary investigation actual data were obtained on the allegation that before the incident the victim had taken part in dinner party with his acquaintances during which they used alcohol, as well. On December 27, 2016 at about 23:30 a row erupted between the victim and one of the participants of dinner party which later went on in Jravazan Street of Alaverdi town. The argument turned into brawl during which the person having committed the alleged crime hit the victim on different parts of his body with a blunt, rigid item. The latter died of the bodily injuries he had sustained.  

On the base of the sufficient evidence obtained during pretrial proceeding charge was pressed against the resident of Lori region according to the Part 1 of the Article 104 of RA Criminal Code, detention was chosen as a pretrial measure against him.  

Preliminary investigation was completed and the criminal case with the bill of indictment was sent to court.
