In the result of ongoing procedural, evidentiary actions, as well as operative-intelligence measures taken within the framework of the criminal proceeding initiated in the Investigative Division of Avan and Nor Nork administrative districts of Yerevan Investigative Department of the RA Investigative Committee new circumstances of the case of illegal turnover of narcotic drugs were found out.

As it was informed by the RA Investigative Committee, in the result of implementation of operative data on illegal turnover of narcotic drugs received in the Police, on February 2, 2023 the resident of Yerevan, born in 1996, was arrested on the base of reasonable suspicion of illegal procurement, keeping and selling of narcotic drugs and taken to Nor Nork Police Division from Moldovakan Street of Nor Nork administrative district of Yerevan. Through his personal search, conducted as prescribed by law, 30 packages of yellowish-green mass similar to drug of “Marijuana” type, with a total weight of about 26.9 grams, were found.

It was found out that the mentioned man had already put 5 packages of drug of “Marijuana” type in different parts of Nor Nork administrative district which should have been realized through the page registered in the application “Telegram”.

On the base of the criminal prosecution initiated by the supervising prosecutor, charge was pressed against 27 year-old man by the investigator according to the Points 2 and 3 of the Part 2 of the Article 46-393 of RA Criminal Code. The latter is charged with assisting to realize illegal drug by an unidentified user of the relevant channel of the application “Telegram”, particularly organizing the supply of realization by him and procuring, keeping and realizing narcotic drugs in large amount in order to receive income.

During preliminary investigation, based on the court decision, search was conducted in 27 year-old young man’s apartment in the result of which totally 345 grams of mass similar to narcotic drugs in about 170 packages were found by the investigator and the employees of the criminal police of the RA Ministry of Internal Affairs. The mass was sent for expertise.

The investigator submitted a motion to court to choose detention as a pretrial measure against the mentioned person.

Measures are taken to find out the source of the drug as well as other persons involved in the illegal turnover of narcotic drugs.

Note; Everyone charged with alleged crime offence shall be presumed innocent until proved guilty according to law.
