Preliminary investigation of three criminal proceedings initiated on illegal turnover of narcotic drugs in particularly large amount for the purpose of distribution was completed in the Department for Investigation of Crimes on Human Trafficking, against Sexual Immunity of Juveniles and Illegal Turnover of Drugs of General Department for Investigation of Particularly Important Cases of the RA Investigative Committee. 

Pursuant to factual data obtained within the framework of the mentioned two criminal proceedings, in one instance, G.H. and, in another instance, J.G., through the “Telegram” and “WhatsApp” messaging applications having received the locations of caches containing narcotic drugs smuggled into the RA, retrieved 6.4 kg and 4.3 kg, respectively, of “Marijuana” type of narcotic drugs from the indicated locations.

However, due to circumstances beyond their control, they were unable to complete their criminal intent, as they were apprehended by police officers. 

In addition, G.H., attempting to flee, struck a police officer with the vehicle he was driving, thereby causing the officer bodily injury of medium gravity. 

Pursuant to factual data obtained within the framework of the third criminal proceeding, V.Ch., S.P., H.B., and A.M., having assisted in the smuggling of narcotic drugs in particularly large amount, namely 4.5 kg of “Methamphetamine” and 17.8 kg of “Marijuana” types, across the state border of the RA, traveled to the border area, illegally acquired the aforementioned narcotic drugs for the purpose of distribution, and proceeded to Yerevan; however, they were apprehended by police officers.

Besides, in the course of the preliminary investigation, it was also found out that S.P. acquired a counterfeit Russian driver's license, which he presented on numerous occasions to the officers of the Patrol Service of the RA Ministry of Internal Affairs while operating a vehicle

Within the framework of the mentioned three criminal proceedings public criminal prosecution was initiated against 7 individuals.

5 of them were detained, and home detention was applied as a pretrial measure against 2. 

The criminal proceedings with respect to the mentioned individuals with the bill of indictment were referred to the supervising prosecutor.
