Preliminary investigation of the criminal case initiated on two persons’ murder in Gyumri was completed in the Department of Investigation of Crimes against Humanity of General Department of Investigation of Particularly Important Cases of the RA Investigative Committee. Charge was pressed against the resident of Gyumri, born in 1997.

It was earlier informed that on May 17, 2018 an armed incident took place in Ghukasyan Street of Gyumri during which two residents of Gyumri, who were cousins, born in 1981 and 1985, sustained bodily injuries incompatible with life.

A criminal case on murder was initiated in the RA IC Shirak Regional Investigative Department preliminary investigation of which was conducted in the RA IC Department of Investigation of Crimes against Humanity of General Department of Investigation of Particularly Important Cases.

During preliminary investigation investigatory actions of great volume were conducted, operative-intelligence measures were taken, a number of forensic examinations were commissioned and their results were received, circumstances of the case, the motive of murder were found out, the person having committed the alleged crime was identified; he is a resident of Gyumri, born in 1997.

Pursuant to data obtained during pretrial proceeding the young men sustained the bodily injuries incompatible with life on May 17 at about 17:00 in Ghukasyan Street of Gyumri during the argument on domestic matters.

Particularly, on the day of the incident at about 15:30 the young man, born in 1997, quarreled with the brother of one of the victims during which he beat him.

Later the parties met in Ghukasyan Street to make clarifications about what had happened during which the young man, born in 1997, with the purpose of depriving the brothers from life, in a way dangerous for life of the residents of the houses nearby fired shots with a rifle of «AK-74» model of 5.45m caliber procured and kept by him illegally, causing them firearm bodily injuries incompatible with life.

On the base of the obtained sufficient evidence charge was pressed against 22 year-old young man according to the Points 1, 6 of the Part 2 of the Article 104 and the Part 1 of the Article 235 of RA Criminal Code. Detention was chosen as a pretrial measure against him.

Preliminary investigation was completed and the criminal case with the bill of indictment was sent to court.
