Preliminary investigation of the criminal proceeding investigated on attempt of illegal sale of narcotic drugs in particularly large amount committed by three individuals was completed in General Department for Investigation of Crimes against the State, Fundamentals of the Constitutional Order and Public Security of the RA Investigative Committee.
As a result of large-scale investigative actions and measures conducted and taken by the officers of the RA Investigative Committee and the Police of the RA Ministry of Internal Affairs, it was found out that in December, 2025, RA citizens S.H., N.M. and S.H., with prior agreement, with the intent of sale, attempted to procure the narcotic drugs of “Marijuana” type in particularly large amount - about 5.5 kg, smuggled to the RA.
Particularly, a foreign citizen smuggled the narcotic drug across the border, across the Araks River, and hid it in the territory of the RA. Then, as a result of the agreement reached with S.H. and N.M., he provided one of them with information about the location of the drugs previously hidden in the territory of the RA. However, the RA citizen was discovered and arrested by the Police officers of the RA Ministry of Internal Affairs at the moment he took the drugs.
By the prosecutor’s decision, public criminal prosecution was initiated against S.H., N.M. and S.H. according to the Point 2 of the Part 3 of the Article 44-393 of RA Criminal Code.
Home detention was applied as a pretrial measure against them.
The criminal proceeding with respect to three individuals, with the bill of indictment was sent to the prosecutor for approval and referral to court.
