Preliminary investigation of the criminal proceeding regarding theft attempt committed by an advocate was completed in General Department for Investigation of Particularly Important Cases of the RA Investigative Committee.

In the course of the preliminary investigation actual data were obtained on the allegation that an advocate of the RA Chamber of Advocates, on October 22, 2026 taking part in the search conducted within the framework of the criminal proceeding investigated in General Department for Investigation of Particularly Important Cases of the RA Investigative Committee, at 25 Kirk Kirkoryan, Yerevan, in the administrative building of the former hotel complex “Cherry”, taking advantage of the fact that the persons conducting the investigative actions were occupied, secretly stole money in significant amount - 820 thousand AMD, from the bag belonging to his client, foreign national F.C.. However, the advocate could not complete the crime due to circumstances beyond his control, as he was subjected to personal search by the investigators conducting the on-site search, as a result of which the stolen 820 thousand AMD was discovered and seized.  
 
Public criminal prosecution was initiated against the advocate according to the Point 4 of the Part 2 of the Article 44-254 of RA Criminal Code. 

Administrative supervision and absence ban was applied as a pretrial measure against him. 

The criminal proceeding with the bill of indictment was referred to the supervising prosecutor.
