In the course of the preliminary investigation of the criminal proceeding initiated in Kotayk Regional Investigative Department of the RA Investigative Committee, factual data were obtained on the allegation that on April 1, 2026   during a recess in a court hearing at Charentsavan seat of the Court of First Instance of General Jurisdiction, the victim's representatives and the defendants displayed disrespectful conduct and blatant contempt for legal and moral norms. They shoved one another, exchanged insults, and damaged court property, thereby disrupting the orderly conduct of the court proceedings.

During the incident, the court bailiff who was on duty during the hearing sustained bodily injuries.

In the course of the preliminary investigation of the criminal proceeding, by the prosecutor’s decision, public criminal prosecution was initiated against 18 individuals according to the Point 1 of the Part 2 of the Article 297 of RA Criminal Code. 

The criminal proceeding with the bill of indictment was sent to the prosecutor for approval and referral to court.
