In the course of the preliminary investigation of the criminal proceeding initiated in Gegharkunik Regional Investigative Department of the RA Investigative Committee, factual data were obtained on the allegation that A.Sh., being M.K.’s close relative – husband’s mother, repeatedly humiliated M.K. during their cohabitation. As a result, the latter, being in a state of severe emotional distress and tension, on November 27, 2024 committed suicide by hanging herself from the ceiling with a rope in the barn adjacent to home.

Public criminal prosecution was initiated against A.Sh. according to the Point 3 of the Part 2 of the Article 162 of RA Criminal Code. 

The criminal proceeding with the bill of indictment was referred to the supervising prosecutor.
