By the order of the Chairman of the RA Investigative Committee, Artur Poghosyan, structural changes were implemented to optimize workload distribution, ensure the effective allocation of human resources, and significantly enhance the efficiency of investigative processes.

Particularly, a Second Garrison Investigative Unit was established within the Investigative Committee, while the Division of Provision of International Queries was reorganized into the International Cooperation Department.

Accordingly, the establishment of the Second Garrison Investigative Unit was attributable to the existing workload of the garrison investigative units in the Investigative Committee, as well as the need to ensure the proper investigation of criminal proceedings involving military offenses within a reasonable time.

The Second Garrison Investigative Unit will be located in the town of Vedi, Ararat Region.

With respect to the reorganization of the International Cooperation Department, it should be noted that the recent increase in transnational crime has resulted in a growing volume of requests for international legal assistance and expanded cooperation with partner states. Consequently, the staffing and structural limitations of the former division gave rise to an excessive workload.

As a result, the reorganization of the Department will facilitate a clear delineation of functions and ensure greater efficiency and timeliness in the processing of international requests. The reform is intended to expand cooperation with foreign partners and international organizations and to strengthen the institutional capacity of the Investigative Committee.
