The newly appointed Consul General of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Kapan Morteza Abedin Varamin has been hosted by the RA Investigative Committee on a familiarization visit. The latter has been received by the Deputy Chairman of the RA Investigative Committee Arsen Ayvazyan.

The Deputy Chairman of the RA Investigative Committee first congratulated Mr. Abedin Varamin on the appointment to the position of consul general and expressed hope that his activity would contribute to further development of interstate relations between Armenia and Iran.

Arsen Ayvazyan has also assessed highly the close cooperation between the Embassy of IRI to Armenia and the RA Investigative Committee based on mutual trust which contributes to promptness and effectiveness of information exchange and responding to emerging problems.

Mr. Abedin Varamin, in his turn, appreciated the high bar of relations between the neighboring countries at all levels and expressed willingness to expand cooperation with the RA Investigative Committee also through the General Consulate.

During the meeting issues on protection of rights of the citizens of both countries within the framework of criminal proceedings, mutual aid in legal sphere as well as other issues of mutual interest have been discussed.
