In the course of the preliminary investigation of the criminal proceeding investigated in General Department for Investigation of Economic Crimes and Smuggling of the RA Investigative Committee factual data were obtained on the allegation that a foreign national had smuggled narcotic drugs in particularly large amount - 5 kg of “Marijuana” into Armenia.

As a result of joint measures taken together with the officers of the Police of the RA Ministry of Internal Affairs the location where the narcotic drugs had been placed was identified. At the time the packages were being retrieved, A.M., T.B., and D.B., residents of Yerevan, were arrested and brought before the investigative body.

By the supervising prosecutor’s decision public criminal prosecution was initiated against them according to the Point 2 of the Part 3 of the Article 44-393 of RA Criminal Code. 

A.M., T.B., and D.B. were detained.
