Investigative and procedural actions are conducted in the Investigative Division of Arabkir administrative district of Yerevan Investigative Department of the RA Investigative Committee to find out circumstances of apparent murder attempt committed by 36 year-old man against his mother.

On April 16, 2023 a call was received from the employee of a hotel located on Sevqaretsi Saqo Street of Yerevan informing that at the mentioned hotel a man and a woman, introducing themselves as mother and son, rented a room after which sounds of beating were heard from the mentioned room. Approaching it they found the woman bloody and beaten.

In the result of operative-intelligence measures it was found out that on April 16, 2023 at about 13:00 74 year-old woman and the latter’s 36 year-old son visited the mentioned hotel and rented a room. An hour later during the row erupted between them the son hit his mother after which he cut her neck and throwing himself down from the balcony of the 4^th floor of the hotel, tried to flee. However, he was found in the hotel yard with a knife in his hand and neutralized. Mother and son were taken to medical centers.

A criminal proceeding was initiated according to the Point 9 of the Part 2 of the Article 44-155 of RA Criminal Code.

Through inspection of the scene conducted during preliminary investigation blood-like traces, the knife which was the instrument of crime, as well as other items of interest to investigation were found and taken from the yard of the hotel, the memory stick of the cameras located at the scene was taken. Forensic medical, forensic chemical, forensic genetic, forensic criminological expertises were commissioned.

36 year-old man was arrested.

Relevant investigative actions have not been conducted yet with the latter and the victim due to their health conditions.

Circumstances of the case are being found out, preliminary investigation is ongoing.
