Public Criminal Prosecution Initiated against inspector of branch of the Electric Networks of Armenia
In the course of the preliminary investigation of the criminal proceeding initiated in the Department for Investigation of General and Election-Related Crimes of General Department for Investigation of Particularly Important Cases of the RA Investigative Committee it was found out and grounded that from June 6, 2024 to September 15, 2025, G.Kh., serving as an inspector in one of the branches of the Electric Networks of Armenia (ENA), with a unified intent to commit property embezzlement in large amount through fraud, submitted inflated electricity consumption figures that did not correspond to reality instead of the actual readings recorded by the metering device accounting for the electricity consumed for street lighting on several streets within the settlement located in his service area.
As a result, property damage in large amount - 1 million 102 thousand 288 AMD was caused by G.Kh. to the municipality.
Public criminal prosecution was initiated against him according to the Point 3 of the Part 2 of the Article 255 of RA Criminal Code.
G.Kh. was arrested.
Preliminary investigation of the criminal proceeding is ongoing.
