Preliminary investigation of the criminal proceeding initiated on murder of 28 year-old resident of Yerevan is ongoing in the Second Investigative Division of Kentron and Nork-Marash administrative districts of Yerevan Investigative Department of the RA Investigative Committee.

In the result of urgent investigative and procedural actions a number of circumstances significant for the case, among them the motive, were found out.

Particularly, an argument took place between the victim and his acquaintance – 26 year-old resident of Armavir, pursuant to initial data, on issues related to illegal turnover of narcotic drugs. During the argument 26 year-old young man, with the intent to illegally deprive 28 year-old citizen of life, stabbed the latter on the neck and chest causing bodily injuries incompatible with life. Then he set the apartment on fire and left the scene.

It was earlier informed that the person having committed the alleged crime gave self-incriminating testimony presenting the details of the case.

On the base of the obtained sufficient data charge was pressed against the latter according to the Part 1 of the Article 155 and the Point 2 of the Part 2 of the Article 264 of RA Criminal Code. A motion was submitted to court to use detention as a pretrial measure against him.

Preliminary investigation is ongoing. Measures are taken to find out all circumstances of the case, to find the instrument of crime.
