Criminal Case Initiated on Death of Woman Who Had Just Given Birth
Investigation is conducted in the Investigative Division of Kentron and Nork-Marash administrative districts of Yerevan Investigative Department of the RA Investigative Committee to find out circumstances of death of the woman who had just given birth in medical center.
On September 2, 2019 at 19:30 a call was received in the RA Police from a citizen informing that his sister Luiza Avetisyan died in medical center while giving birth.
Pursuant to initial data, Luiza Avetisyan, born in 1995, died on September 2, 2019 at 16:26 during Caesarean section in «Research Center Maternal and Child Health Protection».
Considering that in the materials there are elements of crime envisaged by the RA Criminal Code a criminal case was initiated in the Police according to the Part 2 of the Article 130 of RA Criminal Code which was sent to the RA IC Investigative Division of Kentron and Nork-Marash administrative districts of Yerevan Investigative Department for conduction of investigation and was received in proceeding.
Necessary investigatory and other procedural actions were conducted – the woman's personal card, her medical documents were confiscated from hospital, explanations were taken, forensic medical examination of the body was commissioned.
Preliminary investigation is under way. Additional information about procedural decisions made on the base of the obtained evidence will be provided.
Note; Everyone charged with alleged crime offence shall be presumed innocent until proved guilty according to law.
