Preliminary investigation of the criminal proceeding investigated on defaming a person through the chairman of the party "Public Voice" by another person and stealing property in particularly large amount by cheating under the pretext of forcing to return the invested money committed by the resident of Yerevan, born in 1980, Hayk Khachatryan, as well as stealing money by cheating a number of citizens committed by the same person is ongoing in the Division of Investigation of Grave Crimes of Yerevan Investigative Department of the RA Investigative Committee.
 

As it was already informed, charge was pressed against Hayk Khachatryan according to the Point 3 of the Part 3 of the Article 255 (corresponds to the Point 1 of the Part 3 of the Article 178 of RA former Criminal Code) and the Point 3 of the Part 2 of the Article 255 (corresponds to the Point 2 of the Part 2 of the Article 178 of RA former Criminal Code) for apparent collusion with the leaders of the party “Public Voice” Vardan Ghukasyan with a nickname “Dog”, Artak Galstyan, as well as stealing money in total amount of 102.473.316 AMD through several counts of cheating numerous persons. A motion was submitted by the investigative body to the Court of First Instance of Yerevan to use detention as a pretrial measure against H. Khachatryan. The motione was sufficed by the court’s decision dated May 5, 2023, H. Khachatryan was detained and taken to penitentiary.

Preliminary investigation is ongoing. Measures are taken to find out all circumstances of the cases of cheating, to give legal assessments to the actions of those involved, to find out the circumstance of having committed other similar crimes by Hayk Khachatryan.
 

The RA Investigative Committee once more applies to those citizens, who have been affected by the latter’s criminal actions, to present data known to them to the investigative body.
