Murder in Zvartnots (video, photos)
On May 31, 2021 at about 18:00 a call was received in Vagharshapat Police Division from Ambulance Service of Vagharshapat Hospital informing that a man’s body with a firearm injury was found in Margara-Zvartnots section of the highway.
On the same day at 18:30 a call was received in Vagharshapat Police Division from the fire service informing that in the fields adjoining to Zvartnots district of Ejmiatsin a car of “Mitsubishi Pajero iՕ” make was on fire and 13 fired capsules of 5.45 caliber, one fired ball and a pistol of “AKSU” model with an empty storage box was found in it.
In the result of taken measures it was found out that on the same day on Margara – Zvartnots highway at 400 meters distance from Yerevan-Ejmiatsin bridge, for the purpose of illegal deprivation of life, the person having committed the alleged crime fired irregular shots from the car of “Mitsubishi Pajero iՕ” make with a pistol kept by him illegally towards the car of “Lexus 570” make. Then driving the car of “Mitsubishi Pajero iՕ” make to the fields adjoining to Zvartnots district of Ejmiatsin set it on fire and fled. As a result of shots the driver of “Lexus 570” make Armen Asatryan died.
A criminal case was initiated in Vagharshapat Investigative Division of Armavir Regional Investigative Department of the RA Investigative Committee according to the Part 1 of the Article 104 and the Part 1 of the Article 235 of RA Criminal Code.
Urgent investigative and other procedural actions are conducted to find out all circumstances of the case, to identify the person (persons) having committed the alleged crime.
Preliminary investigation is ongoing.
Note; Everyone charged with alleged crime offence shall be presumed innocent until proved guilty according to law.
