Preliminary investigation of the criminal proceeding initiated on murder attempt against 31 year-old resident of Yerevan, murder of the latter’s wife was completed in the Investigative Division of Arabkir administrative district of Yerevan Investigative Department of the RA Investigative Committee.

Through factual data obtained in the result of investigative and procedural actions conducted within the framework of the criminal proceeding it was grounded that on 27 September, 2021 at about 23:00 a row erupted between 25 year-old resident of Yerevan L.A. and 31 year-old resident of Yerevan Vazgen Margaryan in the yard of a restaurant located on Alek Manukyan Street of Yerevan during which the latter together with his friends beat 25 year-old young man.

With the intent to deprive V. Margaryan of life in order to revenge, after a short while – on September 28 at about 01:30 the young man met his 30 year-old acquaintance L.A. and informed him about his criminal intention. 

The latter called the person who had beaten the young man and learning from him that he was in “Victory” park of Yerevan, gave that information to 25 year-old young man after which they together drove to the mentioned place in the car of “Mercedes” make driven by the latter. Noticing 31 year-old man and his friends L.A., taking the firearm procured illegally, got out of the car and in a way dangerous for many people’s life fired about 15 shots towards V. Margaryan with his friends and the car of “Land Rover” make. As a result, V. Margaryan receiving injury on the right toe, fled and hid, and one of the shots touched the chest of the latter’s wife Diana Darbinyan who was sitting on the back seat of the mentioned car. As a result, she died at the scene.

Then 25 year-old young man gave the firearm kept by him illegally to his acquaintance L.A. who took it, illegally kept and driving the car of “Mercedes” make, left transferring the firearm to another place.

On the base of the obtained sufficient data charge was pressed against L.A. according to the Points 1 and 6 of the Part 2 of the Article 104 and the Part 1 of the Article 235 of RA former Criminal Code. Detention was used as a pretrial measure against him.

Charge was pressed against his 30 year-old acquaintance L.A. according to the Points 1 and 6 of the Part 2 of the Article 38-104 and the Part 1 of the Article 235 of RA former Criminal Code. Absence ban was chosen as a pretrial measure against him.

Preliminary investigation was completed. The materials of the criminal proceeding with the bill of indictment were sent to the prosecutor to confirm the bill of indictment and send the criminal proceeding to court.

Note; Everyone charged with alleged crime offence shall be presumed innocent until proved guilty according to law.
