Representatives of RA Investigative Committee Took Part in 12th Sessions of RA-EU Human Rights Dialogue and Armenia-EU Subcommittee on Justice, Freedom and Security (photos)
On November 7 and 8 the Head of the Department of Investigation of Particularly Important Cases of General Military Investigative Department Rafayel Vardanyan and the Head of the Division of Provision of International Queries of the RA Investigative Committee of the Republic of Armenia Sergey Tairyan took part in the 12th sessions of the RA-EU Human Rights Dialogue and the Armenia-EU Subcommittee on Justice, Freedom and Security in the Kingdom of Belgium (Brussels).
During the 12th sessions of the Human Rights Dialogue Rafayel Vardanyan has presented the factual data obtained through investigation of the criminal proceeding investigated on cases of the act of aggression committed in September, 2022 by Azerbaijan against the sovereign territory of the Republic of Armenia – the recorded cases of occupation of territories, deliberate, purposeful targeting and shelling of civilian areas, murder of civilians, extrajudicial executions of prisoners of war, torture, outrage of bodies of the servicewomen, displacement of civilians, crimes against peace, security of humanity committed by the military-political leadership and the servicemen of the Republic of Azerbaijan.
The Head of the Department of Investigation of Particularly Important Cases of General Military Investigative Department Rafayel Vardanyan has also spoken up about the obstruction of search operations for 203 servicemen and civilians, whose whereabouts is still unknown as a result of the war unleashed and waged by the military-political leadership of Azerbaijan on 27 September, 2020, in the territories passed under the control of Azerbaijani servicemen.
The representatives of the European Union have made a commitment to go on taking steps in the direction of solving the presented problems.The Head of the Division of Provision of International Queries of the Investigative Committee Sergey Tairyan provided information about the indicators of some criminal proceedings ongoing in the Committee in 2022, as well as referred to the actions conducted to find out the objective reality within the relevant proceedings.
At the 12th session of Armenia-EU Subcommittee on Justice, Freedom and Security co-chaired by the RA Deputy Minister of Justice, Sergey Tairyan referred to the issues on the competence of the RA Investigative Committee involved in the agenda and presented comprehensive information about the provision of queries received in relation of showing legal assistance within criminal proceedings in Armenia, as well as fight against crime in the sphere of cybercrimes and high technologies and human trafficking, regarding the implementation of the Budapest Convention on the part of cybercrimes.
The representatives of the European Union have made a commitment to provide continuous process of events in the direction of strengthening and development of capacities of the law enforcement bodies of the Republic of Armenia.
