A criminal case was initiated in the Investigative Division of Ajapnyak and Davtashen administrative districts of Yerevan Investigative Department of the RA Investigative Committee on 61 year-old man's murder. In the result of urgent measures the person having committed the alleged crime was identified.

On September 29, 2018 at 11:00 a call was received from a resident of one of the villages of Kotayk region in Davtashen Unit of Mashtots Division of the RA Police informing that since 27 September, 2018 his father had been living in his brother's apartment located in Davtashen district of Yerevan. When on 28 September, 2018 he called his father, brother answered the phone and told that father was not alive any more.

The investigatory-operative group, which had immediately left for the scene, found a man's body, born in 1957, with numerous cut-pierced injuries on the head, chest and shoulder on the floor of one of the bedrooms of the apartment.

A criminal case was initiated in the Investigative Division of Ajapnyak and Davtashen administrative districts of Yrevan Investigative Department of the RA Investigative Committee according to the Part 1 of the Article 104 of RA Criminal Code.

In the result of necessary investigatory and other procedural actions a number of circumstances of the case were found out, the person having committed the alleged crime was identified; he is the victim's son. The latter was arrested on suspicion of committing murder.

Forensic medical examination was commissioned to find out circumstances significant for the criminal case.

Preliminary investigation is ongoing. Necessary measures are taken to provide the comprehensive, complete and objective investigation of circumstances of the case.
