Two of Persons, who had Stolen Flowers from Graves of Fallen Servicemen in “Yerablur” Pantheon, Detained; Preliminary Investigation Ongoing
Through preliminary investigation of the criminal proceeding initiated on January 4, 2025 in the Fourth Garrison Investigative Unit of General Military Investigative Department of the RA Investigative Committee apparent factual data were obtained on the allegation that on January 2, 2025 A.K. with a group of people organized and managed theft of flowers placed by the parents of two fallen servicemen buried in the “Yerablur” Pantheon from their graves, after which they sold the stolen flowers, each between 500 and 1,000 AMD in Northern Avenue of Yerevan.
On January 9, 2025 motions were submitted to the prosecutor to initiate a public criminal prosecution against A.D. and A.P. according to the Point 1 of the Part 2 of the Article 254, against A.K. according to the Point 1 of the Part 2 of the Article 46-254 of RA Criminal Code. The motions were sufficed and on the same day decisions were made to arrest the accused.
On January 9, 2025 the latters were arrested and presented to the investigative body. Motions were submitted to the Court of First Instance of Yerevan on imposing detention as a pretrial measure to the accused.
Detention was imposed as a pretrial measure against A.D. and A.P., and administrative control against A.K..
Preliminary investigation is ongoing.
