A criminal case was initiated in the Investigative Division of Shengavit administrative district of Yerevan Investigative Department of the RA Investigative Committee on a young woman’s murder.

On August 30, 2018 at 17:35 a call was received from ambulance station informing that a young woman’s body with traces of violence, cut-pierced injuries was found in one of the houses of Araratyan Street of Yerevan.

The investigatory-operative group immediately left for the scene; a body of a woman, born in 1990, with numerous cut-pierced injuries on different parts of her body was found in the living-room of the house.

Inspection of the scene was conducted during which bloodlike traces, two knives with bloodlike traces on one of them were found.

On the same day – on August 30 a criminal case was initiated in RA IC Investigative Division of Shengavit administrative district of Yerevan Investigative Department according to the Part 1 of the Article 104 of RA Criminal Code, an investigatory plan was worked out.

In the result of urgent investigatory and operative-searching measures data were obtained on the person having committed the alleged crime; he is a resident of Abovyan, born in 1980. The suspect was arrested.

Preliminary investigation is ongoing, necessary investigatory actions are conducted to find out all circumstances of murder, to provide the comprehensive, objective and complete investigation. Forensic medical, forensic genetic and forensic biological examinations were commissioned.

Note; Everyone charged with alleged crime offence shall be presumed innocent until proved guilty according to law.
