A criminal case initiated on trafficking of Chinese citizens in Yerevan

A criminal case was initiated in General Department of Investigation of Particularly Important Cases of RA Investigative Committee on trafficking committed in Yerevan with prior agreement by citizens of People’s Republic of China.
 

According to investigation data in October, 2014 citizens of People’s Republic of China Chew and Vang with a false promise to provide people with well-paid massage job in Yerevan or Republic of Georgia recruited 4 citizens in People’s Republic of China and by means of fraud transported them to Yerevan, actually for the purpose of sexual exploitation.
 

The citizens were kept in a hotel complex operating in Leningradyan Str., Yerevan and were sexually exploited until 9 December. 
 

On 10 December, 2014 a criminal case was initiated according to the Points 1 and 2 of the Part 2 of the Article 132 of RA Criminal Code.
 

On the same day the citizens of People’s Republic of China Chuan Chong Chi Vang and Lien Fyng Van Chuni Chew were arrested on suspicion of subjecting 2 and more people to sexual exploitation (Points 1 and 2 of the Part 2 of the Article 132 of RA Criminal Code) and supporting the mentioned crime (Points 1 and 2 of the Part 2 of the Article 38-132 of RA Criminal Code), accordingly, with prior agreement by a group of people.
 

 Note; Everyone charged with alleged crime offence shall be presumed innocent until proved guilty according to law.
