A criminal case was initiated in Tavush Regional Investigative Department of the RA Investigative Committee on murder of the resident of Ijevan, Vachagan Akinyan, born in 1966. In the result of urgent investigatory actions conducted in the framework of the criminal case the person having committed the apparent crime was identified, the motive was found. Search was declared.
 

On August 16, 2016 a call was received informing that there was a body in the field near the daily regulation reservoir located at the end of the town of Ijevan.
 

The investigatory-operative group headed by the Head of the Investigative Department of the region A. Mantashyan immediately left for the site.
 

On August 16 a criminal case was initiated in Tavush Regional Investigative Department according to the Part 1 of the Article 104 and the Part 1 of the Article 235 of RA Criminal Code.
 

According to data obtained through investigation a fatal firearm injury was inflicted to V. Akinyan by the resident of Ijevan town, born in 1987.  
 

Urgent investigatory actions - inspections of the site and the body were conducted, V. Akinyan’s clothes were taken.
 

Forensic medical examination of the body was commissioned to find circumstances significant for the criminal case.
 

On the base of the obtained evidence the investigator made a decision to involve the 29 year-old man as a defendant according to the Part 1 of the Article 104 of RA Criminal Code and search was declared. A decision was made to use detention as a pretrial measure against him.

The relevant officials of the police were tasked to take measures to find the person under persecution and bring him to the investigative body.
 

Necessary measures are taken to provide the comprehensive, objective and complete investigation of circumstances of the case.  
 

Preliminary investigation is ongoing.
