Pursuant to the report on alleged  crime received in the RA Investigative Committee on October 6, 2026, on September 30, a teacher at Vardadzor Secondary School struck a female student with a pointer during class for talking. When the student ran into the hallway, the teacher followed her, hit the minor with her hand, and dragged her back to the classroom.

With regard to the case a criminal proceeding was initiated in Gegharkunik Regional Investigative Department of the RA Investigative Committee on causing strong physical pain or strong mental sufferance to a minor.

Based on the sufficient evidence obtained in the course of the preliminary investigation, the investigator submitted a motion to the supervising prosecutor to initiate a public criminal prosecution against the teacher. It was granted. 

An arrest warrant was issued for the teacher.
