Preliminary investigation of the criminal proceeding initiated on embezzlement of entrusted property in particularly large amount, committed by R.Gh., former Head of Sevan community, was completed in Gegharkunik Regional Investigative Department of the RA Investigative Committee. 

In the course of the preliminary investigation of the criminal proceeding, factual data were obtained on the allegation that R.Gh., between November 5, 2012 and November 3, 2016 holding the position of the head of Sevan community, with the help of a number of members of the community council, as well as 2 persons in close relations with him, by using official powers and the influence derived from them, on August 26, 2015 sold real estate belonging to Sevan community, intended for public use and valued at 18 million 940 thousand AMD at the time, to the mother of one of the council members at a price significantly below market value, for 5 million 200 thousand AMD.

As a result of the mentioned action, damage in particularly large amount - 13 million 740 thousand AMD was caused to Sevan community. 

In the course of the preliminary investigation public criminal prosecution was initiated against R.Gh., former head of Sevan community for embezzling the property in particularly large amount entrusted to him, against 11 persons for assisting in embezzlement of entrusted property in particularly large amount, and against one more person for assisting in embezzlement of entrusted property in particularly large amount and forging documents. 

The criminal proceeding with the bill of indictment was referred to the supervising prosecutor.
