In the course of the preliminary investigation of the criminal proceeding initiated in Syunik Regional Investigative Department of the RA Investigative Committee, factual data were obtained on the allegation that in the vicinity of the drinking water reservoir of Tsav village, L.A., K.M., and H.M., residents of Vardenis town, illegally carried out geological exploration and mining activities at abandoned mine workings using hand-held drilling tools.

At the scene, at a certain distance from the drinking water source, clothing, various construction tools, explosive materials, and bags filled with ore were discovered and confiscated.

On the base of the factual data obtained as a result of large-scale evidentiary and procedural actions conducted within the framework of the criminal proceeding, as well as information received from the National Security Service, a decision was made by the supervising prosecutor to initiate public criminal prosecution against K.M., H.M., and L.A. according to the Part 2 of the Article 335 and the Part 1 of the Article 383 of RA Criminal Code. 

One of them was detained.
